There are photographs which have changed world history. There are also this kind of photographs, which have changed only our private life. What is so significant in each of them? Why they are so important? What is so special in these pictures, what is so touching? In world history are some photographs, which have had an influence on people thoughts, life, history. Just to mention some of them, like: American marines with a flag on one of Pacific's island (Joe Rosenthal, 1945), killed Che Guevara (Freddy Alberto, 1967), Charlie Cole's photo from 1989, Eddie Adams' photo from 1968, or Nick Ut from 1972, and many more. Which photograph might be included to the "100 most significant photographs in the world", and why? What is so special in it? Art? Information? Issue? History behind it?

This picture is from 1979. Men who are kissing are: Leonid Brezhnev (Леонид Брежнев) and Erich Honecker.
Here you have a link to this photograph:

This photograph is very well know especially in former socialist countries such as Poland. Therefore, in history this kind of "Brezhnev's kiss" had also a deeper connotative political meaning...
In 1950 Robert Doisneau created his most recognizable work for Life - Le baiser de
l'hôtel de ville (Kiss by the Hôtel de Ville), a photo of a couple kissing in the
busy streets of Paris, which became an internationally recognised symbol of young
love in Paris. I love Paris and I think this picture is one of the most beautiful
photos in the world!
About pictures in our private life I think they are relly important mainly because we can see people that we don´t see because we lost them, maybe death or just you lost the contact. They have information about our lifes, you can remember important moments or feelings that otherwise you don´t remember.
I think everybody likes to see old pictures about them sometimes.
