One of my favorite Finnish photographers is Miina Savolainen. She is a Helsinki-based photographer and an art and social educator. Alongside her artistic work she explores, teaches and develops the use of photography as a pedagogic and therapeutic method. Her work has resulted in the method of empowering photography. Miina Savolainen, her project The Loveliest Girl In The World and the method of empowering photography have received several awards in Finland. The project was based on the belief that everyone has the right to feel unique and special. Savolainen took pictures of the girls who grew up in an children's home in fantasy-like environments, dressed like fairy-tale princesses. You should see the photos, they are amazing...

I can feel therapeutical powers from Miina's photographs. I like all the pictures of "The Girl In The World" and want to get the book and go to her exhibition!

These pictures look really kind of 'unreal'. Fairytale-style or something. With the dark but also bright colors, really amazing to see! (But hard to describe when English is not your mother tongue) Thanks for sharing!
